Parramatta Female Factory Precinct represents a history of  women and children who were considered less than equal -  locked away 'out of sight and out of mind'.

Like Port Arthur, Cascades and Cockatoo Island it is a uniquely valuable site and cultural resource which many Australians have a personal connection with either as a convict descendant or those who spent time in the Orphan School, the Girls Industrial & Training School or the Asylum.

The Precinct is a hidden treasure that needs to be saved for future generations as a national heritage site.
